The Heavens & Sky

The Quran describes the heavens as constructed with strength, layered in seven, having a 'canopy' raised without pillars you can see, and a smoke stage — claims astronomy and physics have filled in over 1,300 years.

6 verses from the Quran
#01
"He created seven heavens in layers (طِبَاقًا). You do not see any disproportion in the creation of the Most Merciful. Then return [your] vision; do you see any breaks? The heavens are *seven*, *in layers*, with *no breaks* — three specific, falsifiable claims."
English (Sahih International)
[And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks?
#02
"Do you not see how Allah created seven heavens in layers (طِبَاقًا), and made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? The 'layers' and the specific placement of the moon (light) and sun (lamp) are named."
English (Sahih International)
Do you not consider how Allah has created seven heavens in layers
#03
"And We made the sky a protected ceiling (سَقْفًا مَّحْفُوظًا), but they turn away from its signs. The sky is named as a protected ceiling — atmosphere as shield, modern physics confirms."
English (Sahih International)
And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away.
#04
"He who made for you the earth a bed, and the sky a canopy (سَقْفًا). The sky as canopy is named — a structural function, not just a place."
English (Sahih International)
[He] who made for you the earth a bed [spread out] and the sky a ceiling and sent down from the sky, rain and brought forth thereby fruits as provision for you. So do not attribute to Allah equals while you know [that there is nothing similar to Him].
#05
"Do they not look at the sky above them — how We structured it and adorned it, and it has no cracks (فَطَرٍ)? 'No cracks' is the specific claim — no breaks in the heavens. The 'fatr' word is precise."
English (Sahih International)
Have they not looked at the heaven above them - how We structured it and adorned it and [how] it has no rifts?
#06
"Allah is the One who made for you the earth a place of settlement, and the sky a building (بِنَاءً), and shaped you, and made your shapes good. The sky is named as a building — something constructed, with structure."
English (Sahih International)
It is Allah who made for you the earth a place of settlement and the sky a ceiling and formed you and perfected your forms and provided you with good things. That is Allah, your Lord; then blessed is Allah, Lord of the worlds.
