Trust in Allah (Tawakkul)

«And whoever relies upon Allah — then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah accomplishes His purpose. Allah has already set for everything a [decreed] extent. The verb 'accomplishes' is active — Allah is named as the executor, not the passive observer.»
Sahih International)
And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon Allah - then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah will accomplish His purpose. Allah has already set for everything a [decreed] extent.

«So by mercy from Allah, [O Muhammad], you were lenient with them. And if you had been rude and harsh of heart, they would have disbanded from about you. So pardon them and ask forgiveness for them and consult them in the matter And when you have decided, then rely upon Allah Tawakkul is named as the *last* step, after consultation and decision. Action comes first, trust comes second. A 7th-century fatalist would have said the opposite.»
Sahih International)
So by mercy from Allah, [O Muhammad], you were lenient with them. And if you had been rude [in speech] and harsh in heart, they would have disbanded from about you. So pardon them and ask forgiveness for them and consult them in the matter. And when you have decided, then rely upon Allah. Indeed, Allah loves those who rely [upon Him].

«[Remember] when the hypocrites and those in whose hearts was disease said, 'Their religion has deluded them.' But whoever relies upon Allah — then indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise. Trust is named as the cure for the hypocrites' diagnosis — active faith, not resignation.»
Sahih International)
[Remember] when the hypocrites and those in whose hearts was disease said, "Their religion has deluded those [Muslims]." But whoever relies upon Allah - then indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.

«Say, 'Never will we be struck except by what Allah has decreed for us; He is our protector.' And in Allah let the believers put their trust. The 'trust' is named as the response to acknowledging that *only* Allah's decree reaches you — not in fatalism, but in the limit of agency.»
Sahih International)
Say, "Never will we be struck except by what Allah has decreed for us; He is our protector." And upon Allah let the believers rely.

«If Allah should aid you, no one can overcome you; but if He should forsake you, who is there that can aid you after Him? And upon Allah let the believers rely. Aid is named as conditional — Allah decides, the human acts, the human trusts.»
Sahih International)
If Allah should aid you, no one can overcome you; but if He should forsake you, who is there that can aid you after Him? And upon Allah let the believers rely.
